                             Sundarapandyapuram is a beautiful Village in Tenkasi District of Tamilnadu State. Sundarapandyapuram also has Brahmin Colony(Agrahara)which was a popular setting of South Indian Movies(Malayalam,Tamil, Kannda & Telegu). An Agraharam or Agrahara was  a grant of land and royal income from it, typically by a king or a noble family in India, for religious purposes,  particularly to Brahmins to maintain temples in that land or a pilgrimage site  and to sustain their families. Agraharams were also known as

 Chaturvedimangalams in ancient times.

Sundarapandyapuram is famous for beautiful sunflower fields & scenic beauty. This village has lot of agricultural lands and lot of temples. This place is located in the eastern part of Kollam district in Kerala state. Many Visitors Plan a one day-trip and head straight to the sunflower fields early in the morning.From there,the visitor travel to Tenkasi town for seeing Tenkasi Temple and then go to see the old water fall and new water falls(Coutralam).

Around 6000 acres of farm land in Sundarapandyapuram has been converted in to sunflower fields.Sundarapandyapuram is a perfect weekend location for city residents.

 തമിഴ്‌നാട് സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ തെങ്കസി ജില്ലയിലെ മനോഹരമായ ഗ്രാമമാണ് സുന്ദരപണ്ഡ്യപുരം. ദക്ഷിണേന്ത്യൻ സിനിമകളുടെ (മലയാളം, തമിഴ്, കൃഷ്ണ, തെലുഗു) പ്രശസ്തമായ ബ്രാഹ്മണ കോളനിയും (അഗഹാര) സുന്ദരപാണ്ഡ്യപുരത്തുണ്ട്. ഒരു അഗ്രഹാരം അല്ലെങ്കിൽ അഗ്രഹാരമായിരുന്നു

  മതപരമായ ആവശ്യങ്ങൾക്കായി, പ്രത്യേകിച്ചും ബ്രാഹ്മണർക്ക് ആ ഭൂമിയിലോ തീർത്ഥാടന കേന്ദ്രത്തിലോ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ പരിപാലിക്കുന്നതിനും അവരുടെ കുടുംബത്തെ നിലനിർത്തുന്നതിനുമായി ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഒരു രാജാവ് അല്ലെങ്കിൽ കുലീന കുടുംബം നൽകുന്ന ഭൂമിയും രാജകീയ വരുമാനവും. പുരാതന കാലത്ത് അഗ്രഹാരങ്ങൾ ചതുർവേദിംഗലങ്ങൾ എന്നും അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.

   മനോഹരമായ സൂര്യകാന്തി പാടങ്ങൾക്കും പ്രകൃതി സൗന്ദര്യത്തിനും പേരുകേട്ട സുന്ദരപാണ്ഡ്യപുരം. ഈ ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ ധാരാളം കാർഷിക ഭൂമികളും ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളും ഉണ്ട്. കേരള സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ കൊല്ലം ജില്ലയുടെ കിഴക്കൻ ഭാഗത്താണ് ഈ സ്ഥലം. നിരവധി സന്ദർശകർ ഒരു ദിവസത്തെ യാത്ര ആസൂത്രണം ചെയ്യുകയും അതിരാവിലെ സൂര്യകാന്തി പാടങ്ങളിലേക്ക് പോകുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. അവിടെ നിന്ന് സന്ദർശകർ തെൻകാസി ക്ഷേത്രം കാണാനായി തെൻകാസി പട്ടണത്തിലേക്ക് യാത്ര ചെയ്യുകയും തുടർന്ന് പഴയ വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടവും പുതിയ വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടവും കാണാനും (കൊട്രാലം) പോകുന്നു.

സുന്ദരപാണ്ഡ്യപുരത്തെ 6000 ഏക്കറോളം കൃഷിസ്ഥലം സൂര്യകാന്തി പാടങ്ങളാക്കി മാറ്റി. നഗരവാസികൾക്ക് അനുയോജ്യമായ വാരാന്ത്യ സ്ഥലമാണ് സുന്ദരപാണ്ഡ്യപുരം.
